Long story short.  I took a random day off from work to drive up to New Paltz, NY to experience the Labyrinth at the Mohonk Mountain House.  There was rain and there were spiders.  But I overcame my fear of losing my footing and sliding into deep crevices and crawling through dark and probably spider infested spaces and squeezed myself through the famed crevice (also known as the lemon squeeze) to be rewarded with majestic, albeit cloudy and rainy, views.  It was worth the rain soaked hike back to the car.
